.....and this is my story
I’ve had my 1958 Mercedes-Benz 180A since 2000. My father bought the car from the original owner & gave it to me as a school graduation gift.
After a few years of having fun with the car, I decided I wanted to bring back the car to as original condition & thus began the restoration journey which took just over 10 years.
After many phases, my Mercedes was restored by my team at home & was ready in January 2023. The Merc went on to win a number of awards for restoration & has seen regular use post restoration.
The car typifies the Benz virtues of the 1950s, being extremely well engineered, reliable & easy to drive & at the same time providing a very comfortable ride.
The Ponton generation was the first entirely new series of cars produced by Daimler Benz post WWII. It was a hit both in its home market & overseas.
Today, it is widely acknowledged that the success of the Ponton models saved Daimler Benz & enabled the hallowed brand to establish itself as one of the foremost car manufacturers in the world.
My car’s 1.9 litre 4 cylinder engine is unusually smooth & enables the car to keep up in modern traffic.
My car, my pride
