What does the FIVA ID Card contain?

The FIVA ID Card contains the following information:

•Manufacturer, city & country of origin

•Brand, model and series/type details

•Chassis / identification numbers

•Year of manufacture & vehicle history

•All known modifications documented

•High-resolution photographs of the vehicle

•FIVA Registration Number (unique to the vehicle)

Eligibility

FIVA IDENTITY CARD

•In historically correct condition

•Not used as daily transport

•Part of our technical & cultural heritage

•Requires physical inspection by a CDC scrutineer

•Valid for 10 years or change of ownership

YOUNGTIMER DOCUMENT

•Cars, motorcycles & utilitarian vehicles

•20 to 29 years old

•Good condition & preservation

•Mainly for leisure use

•Will become eligible for full FIVA ID Card at 30 years

•Usually NO physical inspection required

The 5 step process to get your FIVA ID Card

Step 01

Online Application

Apply at applications.fiva.org - fill in vehicle details, upload documents and photos. CDC will guide you.

Step 02

CDC Scrutineer Visit

A certified FIVA examiner from CDC will inspect your vehicle - takes approximately 30 minutes.

Step 03

Inspection Areas

Chassis/frame, engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes, fuel system, upholstery, instruments, body & number plates.

Step 04

Documentation Check

Old registration, purchase records, service history, photographs - originals preferred; copies accepted.

Step 05

Card Issued

Upon approval and payment, FIVA issues your digital & physical card. Valid 10 years or until ownership changes.

Common Questions

Q  "My vehicle has some modifications - can it still qualify?"

A  Yes. FIVA simply documents all modifications made post-manufacture. It does not disqualify a vehicle; it records what changed, when and by whom - which is actually valuable provenance.
